Luke, is a non-human, agender artist who doesn't belong to any social groups or definitions, living and working as an observer and documenter on the Earth. 

Luke's style is an accumulation of its past lives and experience as someone under human identity, mainly inspired by Central and Eastern European, West and Central Asian art & culture. It was once in the centre of social changes, art evolution and thought / body liberation, deeply inspired by impressionism, Neo-art movement such as secession, Peredvizhniki and social realism, expressionism, symbolism and brutalism... with great interests in connection of senses, between visual art, architecture, music and poetry; and the spiritual & philosophical inspirations & motivations to the public or specific groups of individuals through artwork itself. Freedom and self consciousness is the permanent topic in its explorations and practices.

 

As for Luke's artwork, being specific, it focuses mainly on illustration and comics in publications (e.g. picture books, magazines...), and fine art like painting & collaging on canvas, wood or wall, or even ceramic sculptures sometimes. Luke is good at story telling, with story boards and compositions full of dramatic tension, which are in a balance between dynamics and statics, flatness and depth & gradation, realism and abstraction, low and high saturation & brightness. Its work commonly values textures, indicating various properties of elements and moods of characters & artists. It is advantageous in applying mixed media to create thickness and sections on flat surfaces --- different materials or elements represent different meanings, emotions and forms of energy. Both physical and digital pieces reflect the artist's characteristics well. There will be more contents of inside worlds (of individuals) in the future.
